About this Event
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the Protestant pastor in the resistance against the Nazi regime, inspired progressive Christians all over the world for decades. It is all the more irritating that in recent years he has been increasingly drawn into the global culture war against liberal society. How did this happen? And how can we counter the appropriation of Bonhoeffer?
Arnd Henze is a television journalist at WDR, publicist and theologian. Initially as a foreign policy editor and later as a correspondent in the ARD capital studio, he has reported for many years from the USA, but also from many crisis regions. For many years he has been concerned with the global challenges of democracy. His much-discussed book "Can the Church Be Democracy?" also takes a critical look at the church's culture of remembrance. Henze is an appointed member of the EKD Synod.
